Walking into any shop is almost always magical, because entering a shop is like jumping right in to a whole new world. It's like a new ambience and feeling, new hopes, new things to do. Which is probably why retail therapy is so appealing and rejuvenating.

Today, I was just randomly walking around taka and I chanced by this shop - The Better Toy Store. It was really nice. This shop had so much "simplicity" about it that I felt so relaxed inside, where what you see is what you get. And all there is to it is to get something for some light-hearted fun.

This is unlike other shops with more "fiercer purposeful agendas". Like clothes shops where people shop there to express or define an identity about themselves. Or bookstores where people buy books to get smarter, more skilled and more knowledgeable. Even at the florists, where people go there to buy flowers to express their love or feelings.

It was like reliving those good old childhood times. Back in primary school, there were those days after exams but before school ended where you got to bring games to play. I would bring all those 2-player wooden board games. I never touched that for a very long time. But here, they had it again. This time, with more variety and designed with more detail. I really want a house with all these games as little side-pieces!!

Turmoil!

Skybridge!

Fire and Ice Game!
They're both pretty (at least in a nostalgic sense) and fun to play!!!

By the way, I read this little article about an island-wide sunrise-to-sunset trek along all the park connectors in Singapore. What's more is that it's going to be organized by this Singaporean woman, Amy Lam, who completed the world's longest foot trail! She's the first Singaporean to do that by the way. Sounds quite interesting. Think it's time to go for a loooong walk.
