OMG being an adult is less than an hour away!!!!

I don't know if I'm making too big of a deal out of this. Most of my friends have already turned 21 and it's like just a normal birthday.

But it's like.. ADULT you know. ADULT. It's when you're expected to be really mature, make good decisions, take responsibility for all the mistakes in your life, your parents are not obliged to give you an allowance, can legally get the death sentence..

There's no more thrill trying to walk into an R21 movie and see whether you get found out because nobody can find you out anymore. (although maybe the new thrill would be to try and get in and see if anyone stops you because you look too young)

It's when the Year 1 girls would start thinking that this senior is OLD.

It's what I will be for the rest of my life, never having another official phase of life like child, tween, teenager, adult sort of phase. There can be no more change and I will be stuck like this. An adult.

I will be too old to have done things I should have done as a teenager/pre-adult. Like get some youth achievement award or something.

Oh man, the pain of turning into an adult is cringe-worthy. I just don't want to get rid of my un-adulthood status so fast, though it was always what I wanted to be as a child. I commented on my facebook status to Jialiang saying that it's like being a permanent werewolf. Like once the moonlight shines on you, you're suddenly a wolf and there's no turning back. Dreadful.

On the other hand, I should actually enjoy it because tomorrow's the youngest age of being an adult I'll ever be. It's like the phases kicking in - baby adult before growing to a child adult, teenage adult (mid-life crisis), adult adult (menopause) then an elderly person. So I'm young again!

Am I really making a big deal out of this? How come nobody talks or laments about this? Why isn't turning into an adult a big thing? I don't feel like an adult yet. I feel like I haven't grown out of who I was when I was younger. Way younger.

I need to sleep before 12am tonight so that the cold hard truth does not kick in just in the difference of a second. I will only find that I'm an adult when I wake up tomorrow. Yes, that'll be the plan.

Goodnight.

Before blogging about the MANY celebrations consisting of kbox/bowling, and three buffets and one chinese dinner in a matter of 2 days, I'll start out with the easier thing to blog.

I have been tagged by Jo. (why am I the only one tagged! haha)

So..

21 Things that Most People Don't Know about Me
after you do this, tag 5 people to do this too.
  1. You can tell my mood from what I'm whistling.
  2. The first section when I go to in a bookstore is self-improvement.
  3. When I take many pictures, and camera-shy people scold me, and I then say it's for good memories, I mean it.
I hate the fact that I hardly have pictures of myself from primary school to JC, and I can't really remember majority of that big portion of my life.
  4. I only remember most of my life outside school from primary school to JC watching the 7pm/9pm chinese shows and watching anime on AXN.
  5. I am the oldest child out, followed by my brother and 2 sisters but most people guess the first time that I am the only child.
  6. I prefer instrumental songs to rock songs.
  7. I don't like soft drinks because they are too gassy.
  8. I used to have very white skin.
  9. I wish that I had read more books when I was younger because now I don't feel as knowledgeable as I'd like to be.
  10. I had a pretty weird mix of CCAs since primary school (in order from the oldest CCA):
    Speech and drama [Pri 3]
    Swimming [Pri 4 - 5]
    Gardening [Pri 6]
    Chess [Sec 1 to JC2]
    Programming [Sec 2 - Sec 4]
    Basketball [JC1 to JC2]
SMUX biking [SMU Yr 1 - Now]
  11. I was obsessed with pokemon in the past, and completed the red and blue version of the gameboy game. I loved playing pokemon cards and could even memorize the pokerap!
  12. I washed a toilet for the first time in SMU freshman team-building camp in Year 1
  13. I need to smell my food before I eat it.
So if I get a blocked nose, I'd usually be quite cross when it coincides with the time I eat for special occassions or food out of the norm.
(You should have seen how grumpy I was in Switzerland when there were all sorts of interesting Swiss food and I couldn't smell nor taste a thing cuz of my stupid cold =( )
  14. I like chinese poems.
I find them very artistic because of the way it either evokes some sort of emotion or paints such a rich picture.
Yes, my chinese isn't very strong and I grew up in a very english-speaking environment. But most of my chinese tuition last time consisted of poems. Cuz my tuition teacher gave up teaching me what was on the textbook.
  15. I initially did not intend to join SMUX biking at all in year 1; I wanted to join Strategica (a board game club). But I ended up in biking cuz I attended a biking meeting for fun and got arrowed to join the organizing committee of the biking trip to Desaru. I'm glad I attended that meeting.
  16. I had absolutely no idea of countries' flags, shapes and location besides the ASEAN countries till I started playing geo challenge on facebook.
  17. I hated most of my CJ days.
  18. If you saw three different photos of me in primary school, secondary school and now, chances are you'd think they are three separate people. (jc is kinda of the middle link from secondary school and now.)
It was terrible. My friend recently saw my primary 6 picture in my passport and asked my how come my father's picture was also in my passport =.=
  19. My favourite place in the whole world is Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.
  20. People think that I never get angry.
So far, I have not raised my voice at any of my friends yet.
But if you dare offend my grandmother, you will hear me shout at you like you've never heard before.
  21. I'd rather be in the entertainment industry than do business.

Haha ok it got more lengthy in the end. Doing this is fun in a way, though it's quite tiresome because after writing every line, it had to be re-read, and changed if neccessary, to make sure it's not something I don't want people to know.

Next 5 victims who needs to do this:
Auddie pantat
Leann chou pi gu dong
Jessica chou ye xiao mao (jess you have a grace period till you're back in SG plus 3 days haha)
Fern Yit da tou
Lyn ahma chipmunk

Leann's right. I have A LOT of things to do. I can't believe I'm spending my last day of not being an adult sorting out stuff instead of things like tearing down orchard, spending my angpao money buying many many new christmas/new year clothes. Ok la, times are hard. Save money, sort out things instead. Double win. =)

Time to start on my internship report now.
