I'll start with the end.

It ended leaving me with a croaky voice and a slight temperature. Which left me downing honey every other hour. And I think it was totally worth it - both the cause and the consequences.
Because I felt unwell to go for both my project meetings, I spent my time to instead get my place in order.

Suddenly, all my clothes are washed, my floor cleanly vacuumed and mopped, no more dirty dishes by the sink, a whole new fridge-load of groceries, and even my toilet tap is sparkly! I feel so proud of myself, given that the place was left rather neglected for two whole weeks!

EVERYTHING'S SO NEAT RIGHT!
Haha if only I could have achieved this level in the past 2 years staying at SMU hostel.
I would at least have floor-room to walk to my bed.

Argh! My groceries came up to this =(.
Divide that by 5. That's like SGD105.30.
ALAMAK.

And it came as a surprise that my project group also used the proposal I sent in, done half-sick and in half an hour. Hey, at this rate, isn't it more productive to stay at home more, send in half-an-hour work and get things cleaned up at the same time, than go for project meetings? Heh. But fine, I'll still go for the meetings cuz it's like basic respect to the other team members.

So okay, that was the end.

How it came about was due to endless fun and little sleep.
Starting with the Copenhagen trip!!

The first time I met these people, I felt slightly intimidated. I mean, they were all NUS people. And I was the only other SMU person other than Cach. But Cach already knew them beforehand, booking plane tickets and staying in a backpackers lodge with them. So basically, that made me the stranger. Like the new kid at school kind of thing.

Some of the NUS people, and Cach, filling out school forms after some business info talk.

But it turns out, to my relief, that they are really quite a cool bunch of people. And I've been hanging out so much with them lately, that the hotel uppsala people are beginning to complain that I don't hang out with them anymore. Haha. Oh dear, maybe it's like how exchange students always group together in Singapore. But now, after an experience like this, I kinda empathise with them because I'm in the same situation.

It's not a matter of not interacting or socializing. All that's still being done. But sometimes, you need a bit of familiarity in a foreign land. And the easiest way out is to find people who come from the same place. Did the same things. Went the same places. SPEAK SINGLISH. I forgot who said it, but he/she said "it's like we're bringing Singapore wherever we go just because we're together." I totally agree and enjoy our little mobile Singapore that we are.

Ok, back to the point. The Copenhagen trip with this wonderful bunch of people was fantastic! Since most of the photos are/will be on facebook, here're the more prominent ones, or those that were purposely left out:

This may look quite normal. But it's significant especially in Europe!
Everyone's always rushing for trains when getting from place to place.
And trains leave usually on the dot, so we cannot be late, or even just on time.
It's caused much trouble, but pretty much what to expect when moving around now.

We're in Europe after all. With the pretty sights.

And this is one of the places to catch a mental snapshot of, and keep in your memory for as long as you can just because it's so beautiful.

Haha, this picture is way more Singaporean than Dannish.
Which is why I find it totally amusing.
Cuz somehow, Singaporeans can go anywhere and everywhere and find somewhere to slack.

Ooh.. looks like there're phallic objects in town too!
First it was the plastic bag holder (see fb), now it's this shiny golden thing.
And it's taller than me!
Hmm if this is the first thing that greets you at the entrance, I wonder what else there is inside museum erotica heheh.

This was at the Jazzhouse in Copenhagen.
The lady in the picture was doing indie jazz, like a one-man band.
And she was like using synthesizers to repeat what she sang/played, then sang/played something else to harmonize with the repeated sound.

It's hard to describe, so this is the best I can put it.
Whatever it is, it was simply THE BEST PART, AND THE HIGHLIGHT of the trip.
I don't know whether I'll get to hear anything as good again.

LITTLE MERMAID!!
The rest weren't keen on seeing this initially because it was really out of the way.
But I'm really glad we got the chance to go!
It's like.. part of facebook's Geo Challenge Landmark Loco Landmarks somemore!!
Seemed so prominent that I thought it was quite a must-go.

Haha so much for phallic signs. They have statue boobs to match museum erotica's masterpiece! These Danish sure are open-minded!

We went to H. C. Anderson's actual grave!
It's awesome, considering that this was the man whose stories so many kids grew up with.
And actually if you lived here, you can totally identify with him. I mean.. there're so many swans so naturally he'll come up with something like The Ugly Duckling.

For all you know, he might have even written a story like The Tasty Danish Pastry.
(Sorry if this is considered H. C. Anderson blasphemy for any fans.)
Too bad though, according to the stuff in museum erotica, the poor man died a virgin.

Last but not least, Christiania. Very interesting part of Copenhagen.
From my guidebook, it says that Christiania only has 3 rules:
1) No hard drugs (implies soft drugs allowed!) 2) No cars 3) No weapons or violence

Everything else is allowed. EVERYTHING. You can do what you want.
I saw a man peeing out in the open on the streets. Just like that.
It's so free that the town goes way bizarre. Which makes it a huge eye-opener.

With that, it marked the end of the Copenhagen trip.

That was followed by endless days and nights out at Uppsala.
Followed by Vday celebrations!

To be continued...

I have an ethical dilemna.
My mum just added me on facebook.
